Before leaving the Upper Room Jesus prays to be Glorified as He was before the world was created and prays for his Apostles because He is leaving them.

These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify you: As you have given him power over all flesh, that he should give Eternal life to as many as you have given him. And this is life Eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have glorified you on the earth: I have finished the work which you gave me to do. And now, O Father, Glorify me with your own self with the Glory which I had with you before the world was. I have manifested your name unto the men which you gave me out of the world: yours they were, and you gave them to me; and they have kept your word. ..

Now they have known that all things you have given me are of you. For I have given unto them the words which you gave me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from you, and they have believed that you sent me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which you have given me; for they are yours. And all mine are yours, and yours are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am to be no more in the world,

but these are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep through your own name those whom you have given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name: those that you gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to you; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through your truth: Your Word is truth. As you have sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their Word; That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me. And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and you have loved them, as you have loved me. Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my Glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have known you, and these have known that you sent me. And I have declared unto them your name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith you have loved me may be in them, and I in them. John 17:1-26

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives. Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, Sit here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then said he to them, My soul is very sorrowful, even unto death: remain here, and watch with me. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.

And he came to the disciples, and found them asleep, and said to Peter, What, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time, and prayed, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then he came to his disciples, and said to them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that does betray me. Matthew 26:30,36-46....

Garden of Gethsemane

When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered. ..... John 18:1

Jesus' Betrayal and Arrest

Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jesus, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth, and said to them, Whom do you seek ? They answered, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said to them, I am he. And Judas also, who betrayed him, stood with them. As soon as he had said to them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. Then he asked them again, Whom do you seek? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore you seek me, let these go their way: That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Of them which you gave me have I lost none. .... Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. And Jesus answered and said, No more of this. And he touched his ear, and healed him. Then said Jesus to Peter, Put your sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father has given me, shall I not drink it? Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him And while he yet spoke, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss?...John 18:3-12 ...Matthew 26:51... Luke 22:47-48

Then said Jesus to Peter, Put your sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Don't you know that I can now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions (72,000 ) of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so? And they all forsook him, and fled.. ... And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. Matt 26:52-54 .Mark 14:50-52

Jesus at Annas' house

Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him, And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year. Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people. And Simon Peter followed Jesus and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spoke unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. Then said the damsel that kept the door to Peter, Aren't you also one of this man's disciples? He said, I am not. And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself. The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine. Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I always taught in the synagogue, and in the Temple, where the Jews go; and in secret have I said nothing. Why do you ask me? ask those that heard me, what I said to them: behold, they know what I said. And when he had spoken this, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so? . Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why do you strike me? Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest ... John 18:12-24

Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the Temple of God, and to build it in three days. And the high priest arose, and said to him, Do you answer nothing? what is it which these witness against you? But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus said to him, You have said it: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now you have heard his blasphemy. What do you think?

They answered and said, He is guilty of death. Then they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others struck him with the palms of their hands, Saying, Prophesy to us, you Messiah, Who is he that struck you? ..Matthew 26:59-68

.Jesus is denied by Peter

And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. And after a little while another saw him, and said, You are also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. And for about an hour one after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean. And Peter said, Man, I don't know what you are saying. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crew. ....Luke 22:55-60

.Jesus is condemned by the Jewish Ruling Body - Friday at Sunrise

And they said, What further witness do we need? for we ourselves have heard out of his own mouth. When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Luke 22:66-71 Matthew 27:1-2

Potter's Field in Jerusalem

Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, he repented, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? you see to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the Temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Therefore that field has been called, "The field of blood " unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Zechariah the Prophet, (Zechariah 11:13 ) saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.... Matthew 27:3-10

The First Trial before Pilate - Friday after Sunrise

Then led led Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves did not enter into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the Passover. Pilate then went out to them, and said, What accusation do you bring against this man? They answered and said to him, If he were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered him up to you. Then said Pilate to them, You take him, and judge him according to your Law.

The Jews said to him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what death he should die. Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews? Jesus answered him, Do you say this thing of yourself, or did others say it to you about me? Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you to me: what have you done? Jesus answered, My Kingdom is not of this world: if my Kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: Pilate therefore said to him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the Truth. Every one that is of the Truth hears my voice. Pilate said to him, What is truth? And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then Pilate said to him, Do you hear how many things they witness against you? And he answered him never a word; insomuch that the governor marveled greatly. .... John 18:28-38a .... Matthew 27:12-14

Pilate sends Jesus to Herod

Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. And they were more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all the Jews, beginning from Galilee to this place. When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean. And as soon as he knew that he belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time. And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him for a long time, because he had heard so many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. Then he questioned him in many words; but he answered him nothing. ..Luke 23:4-9

Pilate must release one of them at the Feast.

. And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. And Herod with his men of war treated him with contempt, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends : for before they were at enemies. And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, Said to them, You have brought this man to me, as one that perverts the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things that you accuse him of: No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done to him. I will therefore chastise him, and release him. (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the Feast.)... Luke 23: 10-17

 Pilate warned by his wife

Now at that Feast the governor used to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they wanted. And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom will you that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called the Messiah ? For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. ..... Matthew 27:15-20

The Trial before Pilate concludes

And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.) Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them. But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil has he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will chastise him, and let him go. And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priest prevailed. And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested. And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will. Luke 23:18-25...
